St. George’s Terrace is a boutique collection of just 35 individually designed apartments set within York’s historic city walls, close to the Grade II listed St. George’s Church and Rest Gardens. Positioned a short walk from Clifford’s Tower, The Shambles and York Minster, the development offers residents a rare central address in one of the UK’s most tightly held and sought-after heritage cities.
York continues to attract strong demand from students, professionals and visitors drawn to its historic character, walkable city centre and strong employment base. With over 40,000 students across two universities, direct rail services to London in 1hr 46min and Leeds just 25 minutes away, York combines everyday convenience with the resilience of a city where green belt boundaries and conservation protections keep new supply limited.
By securing early access through Providence Wealth, investors have the opportunity to enter the development at launch pricing, supporting potential capital appreciation ahead of completion alongside long-term rental demand from York’s student, professional and visitor markets.

St. George’s Terrace is being delivered by Torsion Homes, the residential arm of Leeds-based Torsion Group. Torsion Group was established in March 2015, and Torsion Homes was launched in 2016 to focus on smaller, exclusive developments. Rather than building large, uniform estates, the business concentrates on distinctive, carefully considered schemes in some of Yorkshire and the North West’s most desirable locations.
Torsion Homes has built a growing portfolio of residential schemes across the region. In 2025 it posted a record order book with a gross development value of £53.3 million across seven residential schemes, opening a new office in Stockport to support its expansion in the North West. Its live developments include Val D’or in Leeds (£12 million), Scorton in Richmondshire (£2.7 million) and Hebden Bridge (£4 million), with its housing schemes targeting an EPC rating of B or better. St. George’s Terrace continues that boutique approach, with just 35 apartments designed to sit comfortably within York’s historic setting.
The scheme is being delivered through a dedicated company, Torsion Homes (George Street) Limited, with development finance provided by Atelier Capital Partners, a specialist London-based property lender. The substructure, including foundations, basements and drainage, is now complete, and Oliver Hind has been appointed as main contractor to deliver the superstructure. Each apartment will come with a 10-year structural warranty through ICW, and completion is anticipated in Q4 2027.
